For Monday we want to try and all come in with a range of our own individual design ideas, we want them to be digitalised by Monday, this will allow us to get a better idea of the visuals each member is presenting as well as speeding up the process of design, as it would be useful to be able to sit and discuss the ideas, decide as a group on one of them. This would then allow us to split up the design tasks between us so we can all go away to design the remaining products while keeping and similar design scheme.
My personal favorite slogans/ proverbs of the choices we all came up with are
- 'Don't drown in your lies'
- 'Lies cloud your mind'
Another slogan which was not on the list but I thought would be another good slogan option is
- 'Lies lead to loneliness'
My first design idea was using 'Lies cloud your mind' Based around the visuals of a a brain that would be filled with peoples luxuries, represented by type. The image of a man would be on the perspex front of the box, as the cloud slips fill the box further, they cover the brain leaving only the man visible, this creaes the message the more lies you tell the more confused and lost your mind will be therefore loosing focus on your luxuries.
I know some of my group do not like the slogan ' Lies cloud your mind' so i am not sure how this will be received as a group.
The second idea, revolves around the slogan ' Lies lead to loneliness' it would show a crowed of characters on the rear of the box, again with one man stuck to the perspex front. This time as the box fills with slips, it would hide the mass of characters on the rear of the box, leaving the man stood alone once the box is full, this again represents the more lies you tell, the less friends you will have.
'Don't drown in you lies' Is the third slogan I used, This is my favorite design out the lot, I think it has the strongest most clear visuals which would help the audience get the message quicker and easier.
The design consists of a single man on the back of the box with the type 'Don't drown in your lies' on the front of the box.
As the box fills with slips it slowly covers the figure, making it look like the man is drowning in the slips, therefore supporting the slogan.
I also thought with this design that there could be a solid colour background , the type on the front of the box would be in the same colour as the background, making it very hard to read if there are no slips in there. while the box fills up and the man looks like he is drowning, the text would be revealed as the slips move up the box.
As the man is made to look as if he is drowning, the message is also revealed, making it a lot more difficult to confuse the audience with a complicated design backed up by a confusing slogan.
