Responsive // Collaborative YCN

BRIEF TITLE: YCN Churchill

Why have you chosen to work with your creative partner? What are your aims?

I have chosen to work with Josh as we already have a healthy working relationship, we usually team up to assist each other with briefs we are working on so it would be a good opportunity to collaboratively work on a singular brief.

Josh has specific skills in the areas of production and finishing, as he has experience with screen print, embossing, foiling and other finishing techniques which I am not so confident with.
He can illustrate really well which is another area which I can’t do really so it would be a good experience to work with someone who illustrates as a design tool.
We both have an interest and skill for branding and logos, which is an area we share in interest which will help spur our design ambitions on.

What are your specific areas of creative interest in this brief?

We both were attracted to this brief due to its variety of possible design outcomes. it could be approached in numerous different ways so we are looking forward to developing a concept that would work.
Seems like it is a brief that would  motivate us as it seems quite fun.
We enjoyed the challenge of informing an audience about an individual, in a way that would appeal to a younger audience.
We like the idea that the brand Churchill are interested not only in promoting their business but to making sure that the younger generation are aware of british history.

What specific design skills do you have to offer in relation to your chosen brief? How do you intend to use them?

think I have skills in the area of, branding which is an passion that both me and josh share.
Photography is also an area I feel I can use well, and there may be various opportunities to involve it into this brief.
Layout may not be my strongest strength but I think i would be able to manage this part of design, it is usually bad time management which effects the design outcome so as long as we both remain on top of this brief then we should be successful as a partnership.

What specific non-design skills do you have to offer in relation to your chosen brief? How do you intend to use them?

Confidence with presentations we both share this strength as well, we both do well with talking in front of an audience, and together I believe we would be very successful or portraying our desired design concept.

research based development for this specific brief will be a skill that I hope to improve on.

Design concept and generation, will help us quickly and effectively make design decisions to help aid time management and brief success.

What will your specific roles be in the collaboration in relation to your brief?

Once we have decided more into the design concept then it will make it easier for us to decide on our roles as a collaboration, it will more than likely be quite collaborative throughout, with maybe us splitting individual design tasks up and dividing them fairly.

What will your individual responsibilities be in relation to your brief?

At this stage it is difficult for us to divide this brief into specific roles but we aim to focus on the strengths we have identified in the first question and hope to divide the responsibilities according to the tasks needed to be completed.

What will your joint responsibilities be?

Again we will have to develop the concept for this brief before we can definitely agree on joint or individual responsibilities. However I believe that mush of the design  aspects would be designed together, maybe dividing little tasks between us to help generate ideas.
