Design Practice 1 - Communication is a virus // Box development

Unfortunately on Wednesday I was working, but the other guys went in to discover the man we had asked to make the box wasn't in any hurry to do so. So the decided we should scrap the wooden box idea and they made one out of mount board, replacing the perspex front with an acetate front, this will also make it easier to print on. I am not 100% sure agree that this should be the final version of the box because I personally would like to see the wooden box replace the mount board one. It has been agreed that we will keep the mount board box to use in the crit and the presentation as it will be a good representation of the desired product.

This is what they produced.

They also printed out he diamond layout and background which will be stuck on the back and two side walls, this layout is to mark where the foam board diamonds with the names on will be placed.
We have another print slot booked on Thursday morning, Nikki is the only one free that morning because me and Martin have screen print induction and Nathan has Indesign workshop, but she is happy to print the poster, stickers and acetate front.

I like the box that has been made, it is sturdier than I thought it would be and after seeing the acetate front I think it will work well at least to give an impressive representation of what the box would look like.
We have discussed what the we could do with the outer box, and Martin suggested wrapping it in brown paper, so we went to look at the paper choices in the library, and thought the brown parcel paper would suit the box the best as well as remain with the colour scheme of the design.
