I think at this time I am pretty set on doing some form of publication for my process however Type or colour could be interesting but I really enjoy making publications and they have limitless potential.

Here are a few variations of possibilities that I could use,

  • Drum sticks / Drums / Publication
  • Net / Tea / Publication
  • String / Squash / Type
  • Drum sticks / Funk / Publication
  • Music Stave / Funk / Publication
  • Roads / Traveling / Publication
  • Pattern / Ocean / Colour
  • Pattern / Reefs / Publication
  • Pattern / Drums / Type
  • Roads / Australia / Publication

After this process I have narrowed it down to these 2 selections
  •  Drum sticks / Funk / Publication
A publication about funk drummers and what sticks they used
  • Music Stave / Funk / Publication
Famous funk grooves notated into a publication

Brief:
What is a line... design some form of folded publication about the most legendary Funk drummers from the birth of funk to present day, the design must be a folded media and must incorporate drumsticks somewhere in the design.

The Brief:
Selecting a process and working with the brief title 'what is a line' You are required to produce a graphic visual based upon your personal like.

Considerations:

Process -
Folded publication

Line -
Drum Sticks

Like -
Funk

Background:
Funk does not get enough attention as a music genre, it is not respected enough in modern society, as Pop, Dance, Trance and  Emo rock take over the music market it is nice to prove to people that funk is still an option and in most cases towers above today's excuse of popular music.

Practical Considerations:
No media restrictions
Can work photographically across 3 dimensions, print, draw or combine all these processes.

Mandatory Requirements:
All visuals should be supported by design sheets and notebooks. On going research on blog.

Deliverables:
Folded publication

Studio Deadline:
24/04/2012
