Design Practice 1 - Communication is a virus // Box development

On Thursday the box was built up throughout the day, After the background visuals, banner, stickers and acetate front were printed the diamonds were mounted onto the foam board and cut out.
Each one was the stuck into position on the background piece.

I like the visual effect of using the foam board it gives the design a bit of texture with a tiny 3D element to the piece which I personally think suits the design of the visuals.

After the diamonds had been stuck to the 3 walls, the front frame was stuck on, with will allow a frame for the acetate to be stuck onto, As we still need to cover the box in the parcel paper we cannot stick the acetate to the frame before we wrap the box
The front frame also added further strength to the box .

Nikki wrapped the box with the paper which I was really suprised with the results, it looked much better than I had anticipated, I thought the paper might make it look cheap but it suits the colour scheme and gives an almost wood-like texture to the box.

The printed acetate was then stuck into the frame by myself and Nathan, which wasn't as easy as we had hoped, the parcel paper didn't like sticking to the double sided tape we were using, it sticks for about 10 minutes and then peels off again. i guess you could call this a design flaw.

However the box has come together nicely, i think we are all happy with the outcome, after discussing more about the Vimeo video we had planned, i was going to bring my camera in on Friday morning so we could video the box filling up, and we could work on the video throughout Friday.
